The pesher on the prophecy of Nathan to David — concerning the eschatological house, the Branch of David, and the Interpreter of the Law that shall arise in Zion in the latter days.
And the Lord declareth unto thee that He will build thee an house. I shall raise up thy seed after thee. I shall establish the throne of his kingdom for ever. I shall be unto him for a father; and he shall be unto Me for a son.
This is the Branch of David, who shall stand up with the Interpreter of the Law in Zion in the last days; even as it is written: I shall raise up the tabernacle of David which is fallen. This is the tabernacle of David which is fallen, that shall arise to deliver Israel.
And concerning that which is written in the book of the prophet Nathan: Mine enemies shall not afflict him any more, neither shall the children of wickedness afflict him as before — that is, the time after which He shall give them rest from all their enemies. He shall be a sanctuary unto them. They shall not be cast down any more, as in the past, when He commanded the judges to be over them; from the day that He brought them out of the land of Egypt, even unto this day.
He shall make for them a sanctuary of men — that is, a sanctuary of Adam — wherein they may offer the works of the law as a sweet-savour offering before Him. They shall offer the works of thanksgiving in His sight.
And He hath commanded that a sanctuary be built for Him among men — that they may offer Him the smoke of incense, even the works of the law, as a sweet savour. Thus saith the Lord by the prophet Nathan: When David thy father had ruled, then I shall raise up thy seed after thee — even him that shall come forth from thy loins; and I shall establish the throne of his kingdom for ever. I shall be unto him for a father; and he shall be unto Me for a son. He is the Branch of David that shall stand with the Interpreter of the Law, who shall arise in Zion in the latter days.
As it is written: I shall raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen. That is, the tabernacle of David that is fallen — even him that shall arise to deliver Israel.
And the wicked of Belial shall plot against him; even all the wicked of the nations. They shall come up against the Branch of David. But the Lord shall stand at his right hand; and shall break them in pieces; and shall scatter them as the wind scattereth chaff. The kings of the nations shall be put to shame; and the Lord shall reign in Zion before His holy ones for ever and ever.
Blessed be the God of Israel, the builder of the everlasting sanctuary. Blessed be the Branch of David, the Anointed of the Lord. Blessed be the Interpreter of the Law that standeth with him. Forever and ever. Amen.
