The hymn of the figure who claims a throne of power in the heavenly council — none is comparable to him; he sits among the gods; he hath taught what no other can teach.

I have set up a mighty throne in the council of the gods. None of the kings of the East shall sit on it. Their princes shall not approach unto me. None can be compared unto me, in my glory; nor be exalted in the heavens beside me; nor walk in my place. None of the gods is exalted with me.

I dwell in the heavens — and there is none beside me. I am reckoned with the gods; my dwelling place is in the holy congregation. The lust of my flesh is not as theirs. My desire is not the desire of the children of men.

Who shall bear suffering as I bear it? Who shall endure evil as I endure? Who shall be likened unto me? Who hath despised the world as I have despised? There is no instruction comparable to my instruction; for I sit among the gods, and my glory is with the sons of the King.

I am beloved of the King. I am the friend of the holy ones. I dwell in the bosom of the Most High. None of the chief teachers can answer me; for I myself shall recount the deeds of the Lord, and the glory of the Most High. I shall make known the marvels of His knowledge.

Who is like me among the gods? Who shall declare my praises? Who shall lift up his voice with mine? My speech is heard among the elders of the assembly. I cause the lips of the holy ones to sing. To my dwelling-place do they come; and I myself am numbered among the gods. My glory is with the sons of the King.

Wo is me — that I am despised among them; not having strength to stand up. Yet I have been exalted unto the everlasting height; I have been numbered with the gods; my place is in the holy congregation. The Lord hath set me at His right hand; the Most High hath crowned me.

Lift up, O ye gates of righteousness, your gates of glory. Open the gates everlasting; that the King of glory may come in. Lift up your heads, ye sanctuaries of glory; ye sanctuaries of holiness; that the King of glory may enter.

Sing for joy, ye righteous, in the God of wonder. Sing forth in the everlasting tabernacle. Praise Him in the encampment of the holy ones; for He hath taken the strong man captive; He hath shared the spoil with the mighty. He hath set up His own everlasting kingdom; and a throne of His glory hath He established for ever.

And He hath placed His chosen one — even him to whom He hath given a name, and a throne of glory among the gods — that he might be a king for ever. The wisdom of the Most High is upon him. The Spirit of the Lord rests upon him. He shall judge in righteousness; He shall reign in equity. The kings of the earth shall bow before him; the holy ones shall sing his praise; the angels of the presence shall serve him.

Hallelujah, sing ye unto the God of grace. Hallelujah, all ye saints of the most High; for He hath exalted His chosen, and hath placed him among the gods, in the everlasting council, before the throne of glory. Forever and ever. Amen.
