The Journeys of Gubir and Jaresh 1
Gubir and Jaresh, sons of covenant fathers, carry the word northward through hard-hearted lands, a lapse into contention that withdraws the Spirit, and its recovery through fasting and repentance. They confront Kubal the scoffer, teaching that no proof convinces one who has fashioned God in his own image. Guided by Holingu's angelic witness, they reach King Oram's island as prisoners, interpret his beast-dream of successive kingdoms over the lands southward, and teach the nature of God, the Fall, the coming atoning Prophet from a far land, baptism of water and Spirit, and the gifts. Repentance is preached; belief is never forced. Note: the Godhead teaching in chapter 10—one God worshipped, yet having both parent and child—recovers the Father-of-the-Father pattern (El Elyon above Jehovah), though the polygamy-tolerant strand elsewhere in the Aklatan warns this people received much truth without full confirmation.
