Doctrine & Covenants
Section 120
Jehovah speaks in one verse, establishing governance over the tithing funds of His church. Disposal of tithes is not left to any single office but is distributed across three interlocking councils — the First Presidency, the Presiding Bishop and his council, and the High Council — each accountable to the other and collectively accountable to Jehovah's own voice. The structure is conciliar by divine design: no unilateral stewardship, no single hand on the treasury. The closing 'Even so. Amen.' marks this as a sealed and settled word, not a provisional arrangement.
1
Verily, thus saith the Lord, the time is now come, that it shall be disposed of by a council, composed of the First Presidency of my Church, and of the bishop and his council, and by my high council; and by mine own voice unto them, saith the Lord. Even so. Amen.
