The Book of Manuscripts

Frater Astorus introduces four scrolls he has gathered for commentary: a scroll concerning a nightfight, a scroll belonging to the lady Nefermaket, the one hundred and twenty second scroll, and an early Egyptian scroll. The chapter as preserved is a table of contents for these documents rather than the documents themselves, recording that these texts existed, were collected, and were thought worth preserving under a single commentator's hand. No doctrinal content is recoverable from the heading alone.
