THE BOOK OF MANTI

Chapter 5
Premium narration
1
Mormon explains that Timothy taught far more than can be recorded, but the Spirit prompts him to preserve teachings concerning the ordinances of the High Place for descendants who may lose this knowledge. He identifies Timothy as brother to Nephi and Lehi-Mathonihah, all three among the Lord's apostles in the Land Southward who silently desired to tarry until Christ's return and were thus called the Three. After three days of temple instruction, the company felt the Spirit powerfully.
2
Timothy explains the Holy Ghost's two functions: instructing the mind and, as the Holy Spirit of Promise, sealing the faithful to Christ. Bodies must be quickened to stand before exalted instructors. He teaches that temple covenants are renewed throughout life and performed by proxy for kindred dead who lacked the gospel, making participants saviors on Mount Zion.
3
He warns of a latter day when descendants will rush through ordinances vainly, boasting in their righteousness while shunning angelic ministration.
