THE BOOK OF SHIMLEI
Chapter 3
Premium narration
1
Shimlei recounts how the People of Hagoth, having settled distant islands, learned the seasonal patterns of wind and current that permitted return voyages, and through their trade carried word of the Nem of Mentina abroad. Scholars from far lands traveled to read in the temple records, while Mentina sent its own emissaries outward. Peace prevailed throughout Shimlei's tenure as high priest, and Zion took root both in hearts and across the land.
2
Unlike the Southward people, the Nem refused to restore their pre-advent system of judges, fearing it would invite Gadianton infiltration. Addressing future readers, Shimlei insists their trials mirror his own. He relates a parable of an old man content after losing all possessions, paired with Christ's teaching to the rich young ruler.

The lesson: property is not sin, but living to impress men rather than please God yields no lasting joy. He warns that hierarchical governance is already breeding pride southward.
