THE BOOK OF SHIMLEI
Chapter 6
Premium narration
1
Shimlei records that throughout his stewardship the Nem of Mentina dwelt in unbroken peace, holding all things in common and avoiding disputes. They built churches and temples, expanded the work of God in surrounding regions, and were careful not to grow proud, attributing their prosperity to God. City and church councils governed according to what the Lord taught when He visited them.

In the thirty-third year of his ministry, Shimlei grew frail and called his son Shigoeth to serve as his assistant, becoming legs for him. Eventually the people asked him to pass the office of high priest to another so he might rest. He closes this portion with his testimony: he has met Christ upon the Way, knows Him as the Son of the Heavenly Parents and party to the New and Everlasting Covenant, and trusts the atonement that seals the faithful unto resurrection and the Father's fullness.
