Awakened into his new body, Adam surveys the four sacred directions and offers thanks under the prompting of the Holy Ghost. Elohim Heavenly Mother, perceiving Lucifer lying in wait, warns that without a counterbalance the man's building nature will be overcome; Jehovah confirms it is not good for Adam to be alone. The Mother causes Adam to sleep, forms woman from his substance, and places within her the spirit of Mi-Ahrah, ordaining her as Mother and nurturer.

Both are commanded to fidelity and stewardship over the valley, forbidden the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Lucifer tempts Adam unsuccessfully, then persuades Eve that partaking is the only path to wisdom and creative power. Eve eats, reasons with Adam that knowledge of good and evil is essential, and he partakes to remain with her.

Confronted by Elohim, they confess; Lucifer is rebuked, enmity is decreed, Jehovah clothes them in skins, and Adam and Eve covenant to seek God's face.
