The chapter resumes the endowment-style instruction given to Adam and Eve. The Levitical or preparatory priesthood is conferred on the men, with women receiving its token in remembrance of the priesthood already bestowed by Heavenly Mother. The token involves a raised right hand and a fourfold petition in an indigenous tongue, asking the Spirit for guidance, heavenly access, far-sight, and inward sight.

Peter, James, and John teach the Sacred Pipe with its seven directions—Sky, Earth, West, North, East, South, and Heart—along with the sacred herbs, fasting, baptism, and the sacrament, citing texts from Oug for the baptismal and sacramental prayers. A wind signals the Holy Ghost's arrival. Satan then intrudes disguised as an elder and seduces Adam's posterity into polygamy, which collapses into violence and the founding of the Snake Lodge.

Heavenly Father sends the messengers again to teach the Law of Chastity, confer the Melchizedek Priesthood on Adam, instruct on the robe, and deliver the First Token, the Sign of the Nail, prefiguring the Son's crucifixion.
