THE FIRST BOOK OF PA-NAT
Chapter 4
Premium narration
1
Sanhagot's preaching divides the City of Laman: the humble rejoice and seek further instruction, while the guilty and the ambitious resent him. A faction reports him to Wayus, the Chief Judge, twisting his message about following conscience into a charge that he undermines civic order and corrupts the youth. Wayus moves to arrest him, but a dream warns the prophet, who escapes.
2
In retaliation, Wayus violently expels the poor from the city, killing many. Sanhagot returns to the gate and pronounces a curse: at Christ's appearance, fire from heaven will consume the city and its inhabitants. Caught up by the Spirit, he eludes the guards.
3
The exiles gather into a wilderness settlement, but Wayus sends soldiers under Menem to destroy them. Forewarned again, the people flee; the frustrated soldiers turn on one another and perish entirely. The survivors scatter to distant cities, and the chapter affirms that the prophesied burning of Laman was indeed fulfilled at Christ's coming.
