THE FIRST BOOK OF PA-NAT
Chapter 5
Premium narration
1
Sanhagot, led by the Spirit after fleeing Laman, arrives in the City of Josh and finds his sister Himneth — a prophetess who has been preaching there — beaten, starved, and wandering the streets because the proud inhabitants refused her words on account of her sex. Enraged, he confronts the crowd. A lesser judge named Ohmer defends the city's cruelty by labeling Himneth a lunatic jealous of their wealth.
2
Sanhagot exposes the people's guilt, asking what crime she committed, and reveals that she is the daughter of Sanempet, who subdued the Gadiantons northward. When the mob rushes him, the Spirit strikes them down. He prophesies that fire from heaven will consume cities that reject the Lord's servants when Christ comes.
3
Seven of the stricken men — including Stephat, Phez, and others — repent. Sanhagot heals Himneth with blessed herbs and teaches that renewed baptism, after the Nem custom, tokens fresh covenant. Himneth baptizes the seven, invoking authority from the Mother, and the company resumes preaching until reaching Gad.
