THE FIRST BOOK OF SAMUEL (THE LAMANITE)
Chapter 7
Premium narration
1
After teaching the three travelers, Corianton summoned his wife Isabel, who welcomed Hemen, Hementim, and Shi-Tugo. The hosts then toured the visitors through their city, showing the ingenious construction of homes and synagogue: timber frames, inner walls of bark-cloth, and thick cement layers that kept dwellings warm in winter and cool in summer despite the harsh climate. Shi-Tugo memorized the technique for his own people.

On the Sabbath they worshipped at the synagogue, where the saints clasped right hands, embraced, sang, prayed, and prophesied freely—men, women, young, old, healthy, and infirm alike, all anticipating the Savior's coming. Afterward Isabel prepared a sacred rite. Robed and given bitter drink, the visitors entered a small bough-tabernacle patterned after one revealed by the Spirit to the people of Ammon, who sought to emulate the Savior and embrace the unity of all creation in His atonement.

Heated stones produced a purifying sweat amid song and prayer, filling the participants with the Holy Ghost. Hemen recognized the rite as kindred to the Nem's practice, and the travelers recorded it.
