THE FIRST BOOK OF SHI-TUGO
Chapter 6
Premium narration
1
Shi-Tugo continues his account of Ammonite practices by describing how they administer baptism. The Ammonites believe in the coming Messiah, Jesus Christ, the Son of God who will redeem Israel, and they have received the ordinance of baptism through the teaching of Ammon. Baptisms are performed by those called Peli, men who hold Levitical standing either by birth or by adoption, having been given authority by the Spirit through the hands of the Lord's anointed.
2
A father arranges with a Peli for the baptism of his child or dependent. The candidate enters the water with the Peli, and together they raise and clap their hands three times while the name is announced. The Peli then proclaims his authority, baptizes in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, and fully immerses the candidate.
3
Onlookers clap as the person rises, entering a new covenant sealed by the Holy Spirit of Promise according to the covenant established before the foundation of the world.
