THE RECORD OF SHIGOETH

Chapter 1
Premium narration
1
Shigoeth opens his record by noting the passing of his father Shimlei, whose burial was marked less by grief than by gratitude for a fruitful life. On Shimlei's recommendation, Hago-Hal, a descendant of the apostle Mishim and one of Manti's chosen twelve, was made high priest of Mentina. Because his crippled hands prevented him from writing, Shigoeth kept the record for him.
2
Hago-Hal taught the people to rejoice at the death of the righteous and to mourn only the wicked, and to pray for those without happiness. After four peaceful years he died, and Ishim, father of Pa-Nat's deceased first husband, served twelve years before his own passing. The Council then called Shigoeth himself, an administrator rather than scholar, to the office.
3
Mentina remained at peace, faithful to Christ's instructions, while missionaries were dispatched eastward and northward to correct strange doctrines brought by newcomers, with successful results.
