THE SECOND BOOK OF MORONI
Chapter 6
Premium narration
1
Moroni outlines the requirements and practices governing baptism and church membership among the Nephites. Even those ordained as elders, priests, and teachers were required to demonstrate worthy fruits before receiving baptism. Candidates had to approach with humbled hearts, openly testify of genuine repentance, and commit to bear the name of Christ and serve him without turning back.
2
Once baptized and cleansed through the Holy Ghost, their names were recorded so the church could nurture them through the word of God, encourage continual prayer, and direct their reliance entirely upon Christ's merits. The congregation gathered frequently to fast, pray, discuss the welfare of their souls, and partake of bread and wine in remembrance of Jesus. Discipline was firm: members guilty of unrepented iniquity, condemned by three witnesses, were stricken from the rolls, though sincere repentance always restored them.

Meetings unfolded spontaneously as the Holy Ghost directed the preaching, exhortation, prayer, and singing.
