THE SECOND BOOK OF MORONI

Chapter 7
Premium narration
1
Moroni preserves a sermon his father Mormon once delivered in a synagogue, addressed to those already covenanted as peaceable disciples. Mormon teaches that works reveal character: an evil person cannot truly do good, and gifts or prayers offered without sincere intent are worthless before God. A bitter spring cannot yield sweet water.
2
To help mortals discern, the Spirit of Christ is given to every person as a clear light by which good and evil can be distinguished as plainly as day from night; whatever invites toward Christ and goodness is from God, whatever entices toward denial and evil is from the adversary. Mormon then traces how angels, prophetic revelation, and faith have always opened access to every good thing through Christ, and insists miracles and angelic ministry continue wherever faith remains. He closes by linking faith to hope in the resurrection and to charity, the pure love of Christ, which alone never fails and which disciples must petition the Father to receive.
