THE SECOND BOOK OF PA-NAT
Chapter 7
Premium narration
1
Pa-Nat surveys the geography and cities of the Nem people. Between Mentina and the West Sea lie three major centers: Mentina, the port city of Potal upon a great river, and Haydahats in the mountains. Nespelem sits midway as a sheltered stop for traders.

Mentina and Nespelem are valued as defensible refuges should the Gadiantons return or peace with neighbors fail, while Potal, though exposed and easily lost, serves as a vital commercial hub and an early warning post against invasion. Further afield are Haydats and Tlingit villages on the northern coast, Corianton built of timber and felt near the East Sea, the lake cities of Chipnehah, Alconokwin, Cumorah, Naragans, and Michim-Mic, the central plains cities of Winebag and Ponanchah known for cattle and herbal medicine, and southern gulf ports like Kadohah and Witchittim. Throughout, the Nem build modest circular, cone-roofed earthen dwellings, rejecting the wasteful grand towers of the Nephites as offensive to God and the earth.
