THE SECOND BOOK OF SAMUEL (THE LAMANITE)

Chapter 14
Premium narration
1
In the eighty-sixth year of the judges, while the Lamanites kept the law of Moses faithfully, the Nephites persisted in wickedness. Samuel, a Lamanite prophet, came to Zarahemla and preached repentance, but was driven out. The Lord commanded him to return, and barred from the city, he climbed its wall and proclaimed judgment.
2
He declared that within four hundred years the sword of justice would fall upon the Nephites, bringing sword, famine, and pestilence, and that those of the fourth generation among their enemies would witness their utter destruction. Only repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, who would come to suffer and be slain, could spare them. Samuel taught that Zarahemla was preserved only for the sake of its righteous.
3
He pronounced a curse upon the land and upon their riches, which would become slippery and untraceable. He rebuked their pattern of welcoming flatterers while stoning true prophets, warned that they had sought happiness in iniquity contrary to God's nature, and pleaded for repentance before probation closed.
