THE THIRD BOOK OF MORONI
Chapter 2
Premium narration
1
Moroni explains that his fuller record of his dealings with the Nephites lies sealed in the library of Corianton at Cumorah, reserved by the Lord for a later day when it will come forth together with other records to bless the remnant of his seed. The present account, written among the Nem, concerns events after the Great War. The Nephite nation is extinct; any survivors who would not deny Christ were tortured and killed by searching Lamanites.
2
The Nem evaded notice by feigning nomadic simplicity. Lacking the skills to survive the harsh northern climate, most Lamanites perished within three winters or returned south; the humbled remnant were taught and converted by Nem emissaries. The Nem encouraged these converts to settle the southern gulf regions.
3
Moroni records his misgivings, fearing renewed prosperity would breed Gadianton wickedness, and notes his removal with like-minded brethren to the city of Mentina.
