THE THIRD BOOK OF MORONI

Chapter 6
Premium narration
1
Moroni explains why he continues writing: the Spirit has pressed upon him to add personal counsel for the latter-day readers whose era he has been shown in vision. He foresees a generation that cries "Peace and Safety" while hurling its young men and women into far-off wars, with prophets, pastors, and teachers preaching from pulpits to justify the slaughter, and families praying for the destruction of others under the guise of seeking deliverance. He warns that Zion cannot be planted with a bloody sword.
2
No cause justifies taking life except by direct command of God, confirmed by the Holy Ghost without flattery or fanfare. The Lord is bound only when His people keep His commandments, and He never taught hatred of enemies or strangers. Drawing on his own guilt as a commander in an unjustified Nephite war, Moroni notes that righteousness did not preserve his people.
3
He urges readers never to follow any man, prophet, or king into battle, lest reliance on the arm of flesh become a golden calf bringing national desolation.
