New Jerusalem
Chapter 3
Premium narration
1
And the angel showed me the river of life — proceeding out from beneath the temple, going forth eastward; and the waters thereof healed all that they touched. And on either bank of the river were trees of life, that bore their fruit twelve times in the year — the leaves were for the healing of the nations.
2
And he showed me the dwellings of the saints — the children of the covenant, the children of the unshakable race, the children of the latter days. They walked in white garments. Their faces were full of joy. They sang the songs of Zion. They ate the bread of the kingdom. They drank the wine of the everlasting.
3
And the glory of the Lord filled the city. There was no need of sun, neither of moon, to shine in it; for the glory of God lightened it; and the lamp thereof was the Anointed Lamb. The nations of them that are saved walked in the light thereof; and the kings of the earth did bring their glory and honour into it.
4
And there was no temple therein in the manner of the temple below; for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb were the temple thereof. There was no death therein; nor sorrow; nor crying; nor any more pain. The former things were passed away.
5
And He that sat upon the throne said: Behold, I make all things new. He said: It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I shall be his God, and he shall be My son.
6
And the angel said unto me: Write these things; for these words are true and faithful. And he showed me the order of the everlasting; that I might bear witness in the latter days.
7
Glory be unto the Lord that hath built the city. Glory be unto the Lamb that lighteth it. Glory be unto the saints that dwell therein. Glory be unto the everlasting kingdom that shall not pass away. Forever and ever. Amen, and amen.
