Isaiah 4
The chapter pivots from the judgment of chapter three to the remnant promise. The Branch of the Lord is Jehovah Himself rising as the messianic shoot, and the fruit of the earth is what the escaped of Israel inherit when the cleansing is finished. Those left in Zion and Jerusalem are called holy because their names are written among the living — a remnant register, not a census. The washing of the daughters of Zion is by the spirit of judgment and the spirit of burning, the same refining fire the Holy Order passes through. The cloud by day and fire by night repeat the Exodus canopy over Sinai, now extended over every dwelling and every assembly in Zion — a literal defence, a literal tabernacle, a literal covert. The latter-day gathering wears the same glory the camp wore in the wilderness.
