The welding link between fathers and children is the sealing power — whatsoever the anointed bind on earth is bound in heaven, the Holy Order's binding authority worked out through temple ordinance. The fathers wait in the spirit-prison, taught and prepared, awaiting ordinances. Paul's word stands: the dead cannot be perfected without the living, nor the living without their dead. The doctrine reaches past baptism for the dead into steadfast obedience — the living become saviors to their kindred through their own righteousness, and the dead labor back to entice the living toward good. Salvation moves both directions across the veil.
