The Promise of Messengers and the Second Comforter

Chapter 1

The Promise of Messengers and the Second Comforter

Behold, my son, I will send my messengers, and they shall prepare the way before thee. Fear not, be ye therefore patient, recognizing all shall be fulfilled in the time of the Lord.

For I shall send forth my messengers, and they do know thee, For I have shown unto them many great things which thou hast been called to do. And I shall send three of mine chosen to visit thee in thine afflictions. They shall comfort thee and shall free thee from bondage.

This, my son, shall show unto the many unbelieving that my arm is great, And that thy Father hath called thee to a great and marvelous work. For my messengers have been shown by revelation all that thou must do, And they have been called to teach and instruct thee.

For behold, the day of the Lord is at hand, And the inhabitants of the earth have wrought great iniquity. For they have become an idolatrous people; Yea, chastity hath become a thing of naught among them.

Even the promised land hath become ripe, even as Sodom. But notwithstanding, there are many who do call upon the Lord their God, And do seek to do that which is good and righteous. Yea, the mighty war which was fought aeons ago is now coming to its final battle among the children of men.

Verily, verily, I say unto thee, thou art an instrument in mine hands, Even as I was an instrument in my Father's hands. For all things shall come full circle. Even as the Father hath called me, I—being thy Father—have called thee.

For thou hast been called to finish this great work, Yea, even this great war. Be still, my son. My messengers have heard my voice, and I do send them shortly.

Be of good courage; call upon me as oft as thou need. For lo, I am with thee. For I have caused thee to sit in the refiner's fire.

Yea, for this cause hast thou been thrown into the depths of hell, That thou might be refined. And only for a brief moment have I forsaken thee. But never shall I forsake thee again.

For it must needs be that thou be humbled. For were it not so, I might not be able to communicate with thee. But now thou art sufficiently humbled.

And thou hast received the Second Comforter. Yea, even I, thy Father—the great Jehovah, Jesus Christ—do now dwell in thee. And this Second Comforter is the Last Comforter.

And if thou hadst not been humbled, thou couldst not receive me. Now behold, my son, I am in thee and do dwell with thee. For we have become one, even as I and my Father are one.

And lo, I shall never depart from thee. Through thee many prophecies shall be fulfilled. But behold, my son, thou art to act with all humility in all that thou shalt do and say, Relying wholly upon me, the Second Comforter, to direct thy path.

For in thee they shall see me. Yea, few have received this gift. But behold, thou wast called before thou wast born, Even as Abraham and the prophet Joseph Smith, Jr.

For even now, when they look upon thee, they see me. For mine image is in thy countenance, and my heart hath become thy heart, Yea, even my blood hath become thy blood. Be ye therefore steadfast.

For I have prepared a way for thy deliverance. Behold, thou hast repented, and I have suffered for thy sins. Thou didst call on my name, and behold, I did hear thy voice.

Now behold, thou art clean. Question no more about thine worthiness.

Behold, thus saith the Lord: Thou hast been found worthy. For thou dost possess the Spirit of Truth. And it is expedient of me to teach thee line upon line, precept upon precept.

And lo, my messengers shall also teach thee and prepare thee. For this government—yea, this nation—shall be upon thy shoulders.

Thou shalt be prepared, and I, yea even the great Jehovah, shall be by their side. For the day hath come that this war shall end. And I shall save my people, yea even Israel, from destruction.

And then they shall know their Messiah, even I, Jehovah.

But behold, my son, thou art called to gather my lost sheep, Even the lost tribes of Israel. And lo, they shall be of great service unto thee, And shall help thee and defend thee.

For I am preparing them, even as I am preparing thee. Thou hast inquired how thou shalt recognize the messengers I send unto thee.

Behold, there shall be three. And I have called these three as apostles, and they shall come to thee. And ye shall know them, and they do already know thee.

For behold, these messengers shall surely deliver thee. And shall assist thee in a restitution of all things. For because of thy faith I do show thee great mercy.

For I do love thee, even as a Father loveth his son. Behold, my messengers come quickly. Be patient and continue to call upon me all day and all night.

For I do hear thy cries and will answer thee, even as I do now. For all who do know me shall know thee. For the words which thou dost write and shall speak are not of thee, but of me.

For I shall put words in thy mouth, and thou shalt speak them. Yea, the Lord shall put thoughts in thy mind, and I command thee to write them. Thou art my son, sent to finish the work of thy Father.

My son, peace be unto thee. Peace I give unto thee, for I am in thee. Thou hast received me, and I am forever with thee.
