Testament of Dan 7
Dan dies, is kissed by his sons, and is buried before his bones are carried to rest beside Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob — the patriarchal line of covenant. The chapter closes with a terse confirmation that Dan's prophecy of apostasy was literally fulfilled: his descendants forgot the law of Jehovah, were alienated from the covenant land, and were severed from the race and kindred of Israel. Lineage and covenant run together; to lose the law is to lose the land, and to lose the land is to lose the race — the three losses are one.
1
And when he had said these things he kissed them, and slept the long sleep. And his sons buried him, and after that they carried up his bones to the side of Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob. Nevertheless, as Dan had prophesied unto them that they should forget the law of their God, and should be alienated from the land of their inheritance, and from the race of Israel, and from their kindred, so also it came to pass.
