Testament of Naphtali 9
Naphtali closes his final charge to his sons by instructing them to carry his bones to Hebron for burial with his fathers, then dies in peace after eating and drinking. The burial instruction mirrors Jacob's charge in Genesis 49–50 and Joseph's in Genesis 50:25 — the bones of the patriarchs belong in covenant ground, not in Egypt, because the promise of the land is a literal inheritance, not a metaphor. His sons' immediate compliance seals the transmission of his words as covenant obligation passed intact to the next generation.
1
And when he had charged them with many such words, he exhorted them that they should remove his bones to Hebron, and should bury him with his fathers. And when he had eaten and drunken with a merry heart, he covered his face and died. And his sons did according to all things whatsoever Naphtali their father had charged them.
