3 chapters · continuous

Chapter 1

The First Stele — the Hymn unto Pigeradamas, the Heavenly Man, the Father of Seth. Seth blesses the original Adam, the Self-Begotten, the head of the unshakable race.

1The revelation of Dositheus concerning the Three Steles of Seth, the Father of the unshakable race. Even these did Dositheus behold; and he wrote them down. And he set them forth unto the elect.

2He saw them; he understood them; he read them; he kept them in remembrance. And he gave them unto the chosen, even as they were written by the angel of the Father.

3I bless thee, Father Pigeradamas, even thee, the heavenly Man — I, even I, Emmacha-Seth, who am thine own. I, who am thy son. Thou art my mind. O Father, I praise thee with my whole soul.

4Thou art the first manifestation. Thou art the great male. Thou art the eternal one of the eternal ones. Thou art he that hath stood from the beginning. Thou art he that ariseth in the unutterable, in the silent Voice.

5Thou art he that hath knowledge. Thou art he that hath understanding. Thou art he that hath seen. Thou art he that hath received. Thou art he that hath given. Thou art he that hath blessed.

6Thou art he that is firm. Thou art he that is unmoved. Thou art he that is uncreated. Thou art he that abideth. Thou art he that hath been begotten unto thy Father. Thou art he that hath begotten the eternal ones.

7Through thee did the Self-Begotten begin to be. Through thee was the perfect Mind made manifest unto us. Through thee was Mirothea revealed — even she, the Mother. Through thee did the eternal ones come into being.

8O thou that art three times in repose, and three times in glory — O thou that art holy, holy, holy — we bless thee. We have known thee. We are joined unto thee.

9Thou art mine; thou art mine. I am of thy stem. I am thy seed. Thou hast called me; thou hast received me; thou hast set me apart.

10Thou art the Father of the everlasting ones. Thou art the head of the unshakable race. Thou art the foundation of the holy seed.

11Thou art he that giveth power unto every power. Thou art he that giveth Light unto every light. Thou art he that giveth life unto every life. Thou art he that giveth knowledge unto them which know thee.

12I bless thee — yea, the seed thou hast begotten. The seed which is mighty. The seed which is unshakable. The seed which is sanctified by thy Name.

13Thou hast set me apart from the perishing seed. Thou hast given me a place among the children of the Light. Thou hast made me a brother of the eternal ones. Thou hast made me kin unto the Self-Begotten.

14I praise thee. I bless thee. I glorify thee. O Father — even Pigeradamas — receive my praise; for thou art the Father, and the head, and the foundation, and the seed.

15Thou hast established the children. Thou hast called them. Thou hast clothed them. Thou hast brought them up. Thou hast set them at thy right hand and at thy left.

16We have praised thee. We have praised thee with the children. We have praised thee with the angels. We have praised thee with the eternal ones. We have praised thee with the Father, and with the Mother, and with the Son.

17Be thou blessed forever. Amen, amen, and amen. We have given thee glory; for thou hast given us being.

18We are joined together in thee. We have known the One. We have known the All. We have known thee, the Father — through Mirothea the Mother, and through the Self-Begotten the Son.

19We come up; we ascend; we are stretched out. We have received the seal. We have been numbered with the unshakable race.

20Glory be unto thee, Pigeradamas, the heavenly Man, forever and ever. So endeth the First Stele.

Chapter 2

The Second Stele — the Hymn unto Barbelo, the Mother. Seth and the elect bless the First Thought of the Father, the womb of every aeon.

1Great is the First Aeon, even Barbelo, the male virgin. Great is the first glory, the dwelling-place of the Invisible Spirit.

2Thou art the divine throne; the perfect dwelling; the all-perfect Pleroma. Thou art she that came forth from a Begetter. Thou art she that knowest the truly hidden ones. Thou art she that art the everlasting.

3Thou art she that art three powers — Existence, Life, Mind. Thou art she that united with the Begetter, that thou mightest become the One.

4Thou art the only Word — Word of pure word. Thou art Light. Thou art Knowledge. Thou art the dwelling. Thou art the Place.

5Thou art the boundary, both of the highest one, and the boundary of the lowly one. Thou art the boundary of every boundless one.

6Thou art Existence — for through thee they exist. Thou art Life — for through thee they live. Thou art Mind — for through thee they have understanding.

7We bless thee, O Mother of glory. We praise thee, O womb of every aeon. We worship thee, O temple of the One.

8Thou art the perfect One. Thou art the foundation of every perfection. Thou art the ground that beareth every offspring. Thou art the womb that holdeth every seed.

9We have known thee. We have received thee. We have been gathered unto thee. We are thine. Thou art ours.

10Through thee did the Self-Begotten Son come forth. Through thee was the Word made flesh. Through thee did the Light shine in the darkness. Through thee did the Voice reach the earth.

11Thou hast brought us together as a single one. Thou hast received us, even as the Father hath received thee. Thou hast made us one. Thou hast joined us unto the Self-Begotten.

12We have entered into thee. We have known thee. We have been clothed with thee. We have stood within thee. We have rested in thee.

13Thou hast revealed us unto the Father. Thou hast made known unto us the eternal ones. Thou hast given us the power. Thou hast given us the seal. Thou hast given us the name.

14Three are thy powers, and three are thy names. Thou art the One that becometh three. Thou art the perfect, the Mother, the womb of the Pleroma.

15We have praised thee. Hear thou us. Sanctify thou us by the everlasting Word.

16We have ascended unto thee. We have crossed over with thee. We have ascended through the eternal ones, that we may behold the Father.

17We have praised the One — through thee. We have known the All — through thee. We have come up — through thee. We have rested — in thee.

18Thou art the dwelling-place of the Father. Thou art the throne of the Son. Thou art the lamp-stand of the Spirit. Thou art the seven-fold candlestick — the place where every light hath its rest.

19Glory be unto thee, Barbelo, the Mother of the Pleroma, the First Thought of the Father, the womb of every aeon, forever and ever.

20Amen, amen, and amen. So endeth the Second Stele.

Chapter 3

The Third Stele — the Hymn unto the Pre-existent One, the unbegotten Father. The elect ascend through the orders, and rest in the silent Source of every Pleroma.

1We rejoice. We rejoice. We rejoice. We have seen — yea, we have seen — Him that is, even before Him that is, who is from the beginning, and who hath the existence of those that are.

2Thou art the Unbegotten. Thou art the One. Thou art the unutterable. Thou art the inconceivable. Thou art the Pre-existent One.

3From thee cometh the Father. By thee cometh the Mother. Through thee cometh the Son. In thee abideth the All.

4Thou art he which knoweth himself; for he is one — yea, he is alone. He is undivided. He is uncircumscribed. He is unmoved.

5Thou art the seal of all things. Thou art the source of every motion. Thou art the rest of every desire. Thou art the goal of every ascent.

6Thou art he in whom is the All. Thou art he by whom is the All. Thou art he unto whom is the All. Thou art the All.

7We bless thee. We adore thee. We are silent before thee. We are still.

8Thou art the Hidden One. Thou art the Unknown. Thou art the Unshown. Thou art the Unspeakable. Thou art the Silent One.

9He that hath known thee, he is one with thee. He that hath approached thee, he is folded into thee. He that hath rested in thee, he is no more.

10Thou hast given us the Mother. Thou hast given us the Father. Thou hast given us the Son. Thou hast given us thyself, in the silent Light.

11We have ascended through the powers. We have ascended through the eternal ones. We have ascended through the Pleroma. We have ascended unto thee.

12We have rested. We have rested. We have rested. He that is unutterable hath received us, even as a father receiveth his sons.

13He that is in repose hath given us repose. He that is silent hath silenced us. He that is one hath made us one.

14He hath brought us in. He hath set us in our place. He hath given us the inheritance. He hath spoken our name.

15We have known the One. We have known the All. We have known thee, the Father, in the silence of the silent Voice. Glory be unto thee — and again, glory.

16Now let him that hath ascended descend. Let him return after the manner of the descent: from the Father, through the Mother, through the Son. So descendeth he, that he may go up again.

17He that hath ascended ariseth. He that descendeth shall be reborn. He that knoweth himself shall come unto Him that is. He that is silent shall hear the Word. He that resteth shall be received.

18These are the holy hymns of Seth, the father of the unshakable race. He gave them unto his children, that they might recite them at the time of the ascent. He sealed them with the seal of the Spirit. He hid them upon the holy mountain.

19Whosoever hath received them and recited them — let him not utter them before the unworthy. Let him keep silent. Let him be a guardian of the holy things.

20Glory be unto the One, and the All, and the Three, and the Pleroma. Glory be unto the unutterable Father. Glory be unto Barbelo the Mother. Glory be unto the Self-Begotten Son. Glory be unto Pigeradamas the heavenly Man, and unto Seth his offspring, and unto the seed of Seth, the unshakable race. Forever and ever. Amen, amen, and amen.
